Waste Collection and Reception
Waste management in Sipoo is taken care of by Rosk 'n Roll waste management services. The company is responsible for organizing waste collection, reception of waste and dangerous waste, recycling and reclamation of waste, and for maintenance of waste stations, recycling points and mixed waste collection points.
Mömossen Waste Reception Station
Rosk 'n Roll maintains also the Mömossen waste reception station in Sipoo. Waste in various shapes and sized are collected at the station: here, you may bring dangerous waste from your household, sticks and branches, scrap metal and discarded electrical devices, as well as packaging waste – all free of charge, as long as they are sorted correctly in advance.
Recycling Points
There are also several recycling points (Ekopiste) in Sipoo. All recycling points are equipped with separate containers for paper, cardboard, small metal objects and glass (bottles and jars). Some of them also have containers for clothes and plastic packages, respectively.
Ambulatory Collections
Rosk 'n Roll organizes also ambulatory collections. Their goal is to collect dangerous waste and scrap metal produced by residents and summer cottage owners. Otto waste collection truck accepts reasonable amounts of dangerous waste. Romulus waste collection truck collects scrap metal, approximately one passenger car trailer worth of metal objects per client. Otto waste collection ferry sails in the eastern Uusimaa archipelago during the summer months, collecting waste produced by both permanent residents and summer guests. The collection ferry accepts household dangerous waste, electrical devices and scrap metal free of charge. Other types of waste are also taken on board, but they are subject to a charge.

Basic information and legislation
Under the Waste Act, all waste producers must treat their waste in a proper manner. It is also laid down in the act that as much as possible of the waste must be sorted and recycled or otherwise recovered.
Municipalities are responsible for organising the management of the municipal waste generated by households. The collection and transport of the waste is partially the task of waste carriers. However, there is also waste that people must themselves take to regional collection or reception points. Collection and reception points are provided for different types of waste. Municipalities must also organise the reception and treatment of hazardous waste.
The regional reception of specific types of waste, such as electrical and electronic waste, batteries, packaging waste, paper waste and vehicle tyres, is the responsibility of their respective manufacturers and importers. These parties must provide reception points for this type of waste.
