Employee Organization

The municipal government office includes the following sectors:

  • Early childhood education and care
  • Education
  • Community and environment
  • Everyday life and leisure
  • Group services

The sectors consist of profit units. The profit units take care of compatible business functions.


In addition to what is stated in the Local Government Act and other chapters of the municipal Administrative Regulations, the mayor’s duties are as follows:

  1. To lead strategic development of the municipality
  2. As the highest-ranking holder of an office in the municipality, to answer for realization of goals and decisions made by the council and the municipal government
  3. To see to that municipal actions as a whole are carried out effectively and economically
  4. To lead the municipal government and the employee organization
  5. To answer for the entire municipality’s internal and external communication
