Emergency number in Finland 112

There is only one emergency number in Finland. Call the emergency number 112 in real emergencies when you need urgent assistance from the authorities (police, paramedics, firefighters, social services). Calling the emergency number is free of charge.

Call the emergency number 112 when

• you have an emergency or you need urgent assistance from the authorities
• you know or suspect that somebody’s life, health or property or the environment is under threat or in danger

When you call 112:

• answer any questions
• follow the instructions you are given
• don't quit the phonecall, until you have a promise to quit
