SMS alerts to inform the inhabitants about disruptions in the water supply
Sipoon Vesi sends SMS alerts to inform the inhabitants for example about disruptions in the water supply in the area. The SMS alerts will be limited to the affected area. All inhabitants in the affected area will receive the text messages automatically, if their phone number is public and registered to an address in the affected area.
Do the following
Register your number to the service separately, if
• your telephone connection is “hidden or secret” or prepaid
• your phone subscription is registered to an address other than your home address (e.g. work phone or summer cottage)
• you have prohibited your operator from giving out your number/address
Ordering a PIN code
- Enter your name and phone number (in the format 0401234567) and/or email address in the fields.
- Click the Send PIN code button. You will soon receive a four-digit PIN code by text message and/or email.
- Enter the PIN code you received in the field provided for it.
- Click the OK button.
Adding a street address
- First write the postal code, then the street name and the house number in separate fields. Note automatic filling in the fields, please wait a moment while entering the data!
- Check the address information you entered and click the Continue button to confirm the registration of your address information.
- Prepare the fire and in the future you will receive a message in the way you have chosen if there is a fault or disturbance situation at the address you have indicated. You can close the tab/browser.
You can also register more than one address, for example the address of a summer cottage or a close relative. Maintenance companies, property managers and other companies can order disturbance notices from the address of the property they manage. Please make sure that your address is in the domain of that operator
Keep your contact information up to date
If your address or phone number changes, you can always update your information by logging in again. Order a new PIN code when you want to edit or delete your data.
Data protection
We do not use the numbers stored in the system for anything other than service / disturbance notifications. The numbers are not sold or passed on, and they remain stored by us on a password-protected server, which can only be accessed by people using the SMS system. Note the municipal operator never asks for e.g. payment information or sends invoices via text message to its customers. If this happens, it may be phishing on the phone, i.e. “smishing”.
