The ancient Castle of Sibbesborg used to rise in Sipoo. Today, some remainders of the walls built around the castle are the only thing left of the former magnificent building. These remainders can be freely visited.

According to folklore, the Vikings built Sibbesborg Castle on an island along the banks of Sipoo river. It is however also possible that the Danish built the castle during their crusade to Uusimaa area in 1191.

The area is owned by Sibbo Hembygdsförening rf.
