Study points from Sipoon opisto

Sipoon opisto – The Adult Education Centre of Sipoo

You can earn study points from courses completed at the adult education centre

Study points indicate which courses you have completed and what skills you have acquired. You can use them when applying for further studies, completing your education, or applying for jobs.

The study points are recorded in a shared register. This register is used by educational institutions, employers, and authorities. You can check your own study points through a separate service called Opintopolku (Studyinfo), which is maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education.

If you have earned study points from an adult education centre and want to use them at another educational institution, you must agree on this with the receiving institution.

One study point corresponds to approximately 27 hours of studying. This may include classroom participation as well as independent work.

How can you earn study points?

You can earn study points by attending credit-bearing courses. These are courses that award study points upon completion. The points are included in the course fee.

At the first session, the teacher will explain what is required to earn the study points. You can participate in these courses even if you do not need the points. However, please note that study point entries cannot be requested or made retroactively. Only approved completions are recorded. The grading scale for these courses is pass/fail.

You can earn study points from the following Sipoon opisto courses.

You can attend these courses as usual. If you wish, you can request an assessment of your skills. The course teacher will provide more information at the beginning of the course. You can also ask the study secretary for more details. After a successful completion, the study points will be recorded in the Opintopolku service.

If you would like to earn study points from another Sipoon opisto course, you can discuss this with the principal of the institute.
