Sergey Onischenko
Make Like a Tree is the travel-born audio-visual solo project of Ukrainian audio visual artist Sergey Onischenko. Created as an ongoing experiment in nomadic art, the project merges acoustic warm folk, ambient post-rock landscapes, live looping, and generative visual arts into a single immersive performance.
Conceived during years of travels and collecting music across dozens of countries, Make Like a Tree functions as an open canvas. Onischenko records field sounds, collaborates with local musicians around the globe, and weaves these site-specific impressions into his performances. The music flows seamlessly between intimate acoustic guitar textures, layered vocal loops, and expansive electronic drone architecture.
During his stay at the Artborg AiR pilot residency in 2026, Onischenko created a new EP inspired by the local nature and the history of the area. The compositions are titled Finlandcholia and Finlandmania.
