Arriving to Sipoo
Sipoo is a bilingual (Finnish and Swedish speaking) municipality close to Helsinki, with three central areas: Söderkulla (literally “Southern Hill” in Swedish) in the South, Talma in the North and the municipal center Nikkilä in Mid-Sipoo. Sipoo is approximately a 30 minute drive away from the Finnish capital, Helsinki, Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport and Helsinki-Vuosaari International Harbour. From Porvoo it is around a 30 minute drive to Nikkilä and about 20 minutes to Söderkulla.
Arriving by local bus or taxi
Sipoo is a part of the multi-municipal Helsinki Region Traffic HSL. You can get to Sipoo conveniently by bus from for instance the city center of Helsinki. Buses to Sipoo include lines 785, 788, 786, 787, 848 ja 841. There are also several connections between Söderkulla, Nikkilä and Talma.

When arriving by train, the closest passenger station is in Kerava, where there are several bus connections to Sipoo. Of course you also have the option to take a taxi.
Local trains and busses share the same ticket service, but notice that long haul trains operated by the state owned VR company have their own tickets!
You can order a taxi in Sipoo from Lähitaksi from +358 100 7300. Sipoo’s taxi centrals are located at Iso Kylätie in Nikkilä and Amiraalintie in Söderkulla.
Arriving by car or renting a car
There are two main highway connections to Sipoo. The E75 (the highway between Helsinki and Lahti) and the E18 (the highway between Helsinki and Porvoo). Sipoo is a safe place to drive and parking is in most municipal locations free of charge. For driving instructions and route planning, you can consult Google Maps.
It is easy to rent a car for instance at the Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport, or in central Helsinki, where there are a lot of car rental companies offering their services.
Residental vehicles are available for rent also in Sipoo through Sipoon Autovuokraus.

More practical information
In case of emergency
The emergency number in Finland is 112. In acute cases of illness or emergency you can always call 112.
The Wellbeing Services County of East Uusimaa’s health center in Sipoois located at Jussaksentie 14. If you need medical attention, you can call the health center at number +358 19 560 0600 Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm.
During evenings, weekends and holidays, please consult the Porvoo general hospital. Always call first up front 116 117.
In case of emergency, call the emergency number 112.
Pharmacies in Sipoo
There is one farmacy in central Nikkilä at Iso Kylätie 20 and another one in central Söderkulla at Amiraalintie 4.
Groceries
There are several grocery stores in Sipoo. In Nikkilä these can be found at Kaskiniitynkuja, Pornaistentie and Suursuonkuja. In Söderkulla grocery stores are found at Amiraalinkuja and Rautatienkuja.
