The Residence

Accommodation

The residency apartment is a 90 m² two-storey wooden house built in the 1920s, with accommodation for one to two persons. The apartment includes a kitchen, a workspace/living room, a bedroom, a toilet, as well as a shower and washing machine.

The workspace is suitable for both studio-based artistic practice and planning or desk-based work. The apartment has internet access and a wireless network (Wi‑Fi). 

Working spaces

The apartment’s studio workspace is equipped with an upright piano, a digital piano, a sound system, a recording microphone , headphones, and a mixer.

In addition, the Artborg 35 building includes a concert hall with grand pianos, as well as separate workspaces associated with the music institute and art school. These facilities provide versatile opportunities for both visual arts and music-based artistic practice.

If needed, visual artists in residence may also make use of the Workshop and Project Space maintained by the Sipoo Artists Association (Sipoon Taiteilijat ry). Furthermore, the municipally owned Topelius-sali Event Hall may be available during the residency period, subject to prior arrangement and approval.
