Child Welfare Services

You may contact child welfare services whenever you are worried about children being neglected or abandoned, or suspect them to be in some kind of danger. The objective of child welfare services is to protect children’s rights to a safe growth environment and to balanced and well-rounded development.

Child welfare must provide support in child upbringing and care for parents, guardians and other persons responsible for child care and upbringing. Child welfare must be aimed at preventing child and family problems and intervening sufficiently early if problems are found.
