Sipoo Social and Health Care Centre

Social and health care centres are the closest and most familiar places of care for the municipal residents. The centres provide all the health care services organized by the municipality. In addition to care services, social and health care centres also follow up with and promote the health of the population.

On-call services provide care in both acute and non-acute situations. Acute situations are always dealt with immediately. If you urgently need a care in the evening or at night, please contact the Porvoo Hospital Emergency Unit.

Social and health care centres provide for example the following health care services:

  • Doctor’s appointments for patients who have fallen ill or need treatment for a long-time illness. The health care centre doctor consults a specialized doctor, or refers the patient to examinations or care carried out by a specialist.
  • Appointments with a nurse for treatment of chronic diseases. The nurse may also assess you need of care, and treat minor injuries or diseases.
  • Health care guidance and health check-ups for residents in the area. These include for example family planning, and services provided at maternity and child health clinics.
  • Screenings and vaccinations
  • Oral health care
  • School and student health care services

General social services under the Social Welfare Act include:

  • Social work and social guidance

  • Informal care support
  • Housing services
