Doctor’s and nurse’s appointments

If you wish to see a doctor or a nurse, please contact the local health care center. A nurse will assess how urgently you need treatment and give you home care instructions. If necessary, you will get an appointment with a doctor, nurse or other health care professional. Patients in need of urgent medical care will get an appointment the same day. In less urgent matters, an appointment is booked when available within the following three months.

At a doctor’s office, your health and illnesses will be examined and treated by a doctor. At a nurse’s office, you will for example receive health care instructions. A nurse can also provide wound care, remove stitches, or vaccinate you against disease.

Health care centers provide basic health care. Your own health care center is your primary place of health care. If necessary, you will be directed to further examinations and treatment to some other health care facility.

Nikkilä social and health care center is open every weekday for both emergency patients and for non-urgent care. The center can also provide diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.
