Early Childhood Education and Care Services and Preschools

In Sipoo, early education and care (ECEC) services are organized in day care centres and family day care, and as clubs and play activities. All children under school age are entitled to receive early childhood education and care.

In Sipoo, preschool education is organized either in day care centres or at schools. Preschool education is free of charge and provided for one year before the compulsory education begins. Teaching strategies and methods used in preschool education are comparable to those in ECEC services. We value the children’s interests as a part of the education. Play in different forms has a strong presence in preschool activities.
